Join a guided walk through Kalk Bay and experience the village through personal memory, heritage, and place. This walking tour traces the footsteps of a fisherman’s daughter and brings to life the spirit of growing up in a historic fishing community.
The tour begins at Kalk Bay Station, where guests are introduced to the village and its layered history. From there, the walk continues through the town, stopping at important cultural and historical points including the house of the first Indonesian settler, a memorial linked to the Philippines, and one of the smallest mosques in Cape Town.
Guests then enjoy approximately one hour of free time to browse the village’s antique shops, art galleries, craft stores, and boutique spaces, or relax at one of the many sidewalk cafés. After taking in the atmosphere of the village, the experience continues to Kalk Bay Harbour, where the fishing tradition remains a visible part of daily life.
The tour concludes with a traditional fish lunch hosted by a local resident, offering an authentic and personal end to the experience.
