Be enchanted by visiting the Shrine of the Mythical Legend, Sheikh Yusuf, whose Kramat is in Faure Macassar. Continue to Vergelegen to be mesmerized by the influence the early slaves had on the development of the estate. Walk in the shade of the 300 year-old camphor trees, now national monuments. Visit Stellenbosch, the second oldest town, and experience the life from the 17th to 19th Centuries by visiting the village museum. Drive through Dorp Street, the oldest street in Stellenbosch, lined with houses from the Georgian, Victorian and Dutch eras, and with majestic oak trees (which also gave this university town its name “Eikestad”).
