Kruger National Park

An experience every visitor needs from Africa…..

South Africa’s premier reserve covers an immense slice of Lowveld territory, which is the size of Wales, even larger than the state of Israel. It is one of Africa’s great game parks and ranks among the world’s top conservation areas. It lies in the savanna type bushveld between the Crocodile River in the South and the Limpopo, 350km to the north (the Limpopo is South Africa’s common border with Zimbabwe). It ranges in width from 25km in the far north to 85km in the South.

The Kruger is haven for more varieties of wildlife than any other game sanctuary in Africa. This unspoilt wilderness of bushveld, woodland and thornveld is home to a rich diversity of wildlife which includes 147 mammal species in addition to the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard), the park is home to wide variety of antelope such a sable, roan, impala, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, waterbuck, tsessebe, kudu and nyala as well as hippo, giraffe and Burchell’s zebra. It also provides protection to the only wild dog population in South Africa.

With 490 bird species recorded to date (about 55% of the total number found in Southern Africa), the park is truly a birder’s paradise. Access to Kruger is via eight gates, and accommodation ranges from rest camps with all the necessary facilities (filling station, shop, restaurant), to smaller bushveld camps without facilities and lodges for groups.

Sprawled along the parks’ western boundaries are Timbavati Klaserie and the Sabi-Sand game reserve. Each of these huge areas comprises a number of farms and independent game properties, some of whose owners have combines resources to create and operate commercial camps. Each is different, with its own distinctive personality, but all are professionally run, supremely comfortable and luxurious, tend to be expensive, and they provide at a price a holiday of a lifetime.

Flights are readily available from Oliver Tambo Airport to Nelspruit or Hoedspruit, and some game reserves have private planes that take you right to their doorstep.Early morning and late afternoon game drives are included in a day to day schedule. All activities, accommodation, meals, and game viewing are included in a package price at any private game reserve.

Because the park lies within a malaria area, it is advisable to consult a doctor about prophylaxis, especially visiting between December and April.

……. Live a reality where Man and Animal walk in one with Nature under the African Sky’s.
